Curriculum vitae

Christian Kröning

Fullstack developer · Gothenburg, Sweden

I have spent the last ten years building tools and applications with modern web technology, from idea and prototype to finished product. I care about functionality and user experience in equal measure, and about solutions that are efficient, scalable and pleasant to use. I enjoy roles that combine hands-on development with a more strategic side, acting as a bridge between developers, architects and stakeholders.

    Jun 2015 – Nov 2024

    SATO Techno Lab Europe AB

International provider of auto-ID and barcode-printing solutions. In the R&D “GUI group” I built label-design tools and printer emulation for SATO’s barcode printers, first as a consultant (2015–2016) and then as an employee. I was involved in three design tools that shipped to SATO customers worldwide.

    • AEP Works 3: part of planning and design from day one; set up the REST API backend in Lua, then owned the architecture for printer settings (read from firmware or shared code) and localization.
    • Built localization support (Swedish, English) plus tooling that let external translators find keys and English source strings.
    • Optimized the Electron Builder pipeline used to package the tools for customers and product owners.
    • Built customer applications for resellers in Belgium, the Netherlands and Japan, among them a Google Sheets + Google Cloud product-database sync for a restaurant chain’s printers, with an admin portal, and pandemic-era apps for counting visitors by barcode scan and logging staff health checks.
    • Worked from the Japanese product owners’ specifications, both pair programming in the team and designing APIs and UIs independently.
